As a toddler nothing. I have an adult in the household, so he ate through her starting money like a caterpillar.
Now that he's a child, he still cannot interact with trash piles at Batuu (I had hoped he could, and maybe find lightsaber parts), so his source of income are the three trash cans (two in the cantina, one next to Docking Bay 7). He can "search for discarded toys" and "Rumage" and sell the "trash" (a basegame metal and a paint bottle from Eco Lifestyle so far) for credits. I also got tips from singing, but these added to the household's (hidden) simoleons funds.
