Oh! I just want to add that Get to Work comes with Aliens! So if you're looking for a new Occult to play, you can create them. There's also a hidden Alien world.
The science career is my favorite in that pack. I think it's the best one and it's fun to play.
As for Get Famous, I waited for a sale myself because I don't really care about the whole celebrity angle. But I was really, really pleased with the extensive amount of costumes! Victorian, Apocalyptic, superhero... it allows me to fill in some of the theme gaps that I want in my game. So if you like fantastical stuff, you may enjoy that too.
Thank you for both of your answers they were so helpful! I'm not really an occult player, so would want to limit how much aliens were in my game- just wondering, do they spawn as townies or come up in gameplay much, or is it pretty limited how much sims come into contact with aliens unless they are in the scientist career? Thank you
If you have GTW, Aliens will spawn sometimes. They are supposed to spawn in disguise though, so they look like regular Sims. If you have Get Together, be careful on Alien Night at the bars. If you go to a bar on that night, there will be a lot of Aliens and more will spawn in your game.
Also you may experience the occasional Alien abduction. This happens randomly, but not frequently. Playing the science career can trigger Aliens spawning because they do become a small part of the career goals. Eventually you can create a device that keeps them from abducting anyone at your home.
Generally though, I don't find Aliens to be too invasive (haha ironically) in gameplay. But just be aware that they will turn up once in a while, especially on Alien Night at the bar.
Side note: if you play with mods, MC Command Center has a way of turning them off. It's an intricate mod though, so if you've never used them, you might need some help figuring it out.
Hope that helps!
Thank you! It seems that they don't majorly affect gameplay if you don't want them to, and who knows maybe I will end up liking playing them! I went for it and bought it in the end and I'm so excited to get playing it! thanks for all your answers!
