Kids need to stop cleaning autonomously

I agree, the worst is kids getting whims to do the laundry and actually doing it. Very unrealistic and kind of spoils what could be a story.

Wow, I haven't seen them do laundry, that's awful. Kids shouldn't be washing dishes, mopping puddles and doing laundry, they should be playing like normal kids. And we have a perfectly good system from Parenthood we could use if we do want kids to do chores around the house. I never even learned how to do the laundry until I was a teenager lol

To add to this, I also think sims shouldn't wash their hands autonomously after going to the toilet. I remember in TS3, only sims with the traits perfectionist and neat would do it. The same for making the bed autonomously. Just a thought.

I love that sims automously wash their hands. I tried the sims 3 and one of the things I hated was that my sims never washed their hands after using the bathroom.

irl, 4-6 year olds occasionally try to 'help' by doing chores on their own... usually very badly, and making a bigger mess.

If their dish washing resulted in broken dishes; their floor mopping in black streaks; their laundry washing in floor flooding, pink shirts and shrunken garments. Then it may add some entertainment value, and a little more realism.

I hate this tbh. It always add extra unnecessary minutes to the task when I want my Sim to be doing something else.

It's especially annoying if my sims kids/teens are already late for school and have to go to the toilet, and go to school even later because they have to wash their hands so desperately lol.

If I remember right, Sims with certain traits ("Neat", I think?) in Sims 3 would autonomously do things like wash their hands and make their beds, but all other Sims had to be told to do those types of things. I actually preferred it because if they were late/in a rush, they could leave their bed unmade and hands unwashed and in terms of Sims time, that might save you 20 or so Sim minutes.

Also, when Sims were low in both Hygiene and Bladder, I would often send them to pee first, then shower, since the shower would get rid of the hygiene hit that came from the toilet. Washing your hands in between peeing and showering is just a waste of time. I'd prefer if they didn't wash their hands in between these 2 orders but most of the time, in Sims 4, they do -- which again, wastes time.

I agree honestly. Sure there are those kids who are neat and don't mind cleaning, but I think most wouldn't go mop up a random puddle without being told.

Some kids do like to do real housework - but I'd have drawn the line on laundry. I did not allow my kids to do laundry. I was too fussy about things being separated - and different temps and wash style for different clothes and folding/ or hnging clothes as soon as the dryer stops - so no kids ever did laundry in our house - hubby and I did the laundry as he is as fussy as I am.

But my kids would jump right up do dusting, vacuuming, clean their own breakfast dishes, clean their bathrooms, even change their own sheets every week every Saturday morning so they could get their allowances. I never had to tell them to. Just like all three boys would take out the garbage cans every Thursday night for morning pick up usually before I got home from work at 10 pm.
