I use Bienchen’s mods to stop the autonomous cleaning.
I got so annoyed with sim children not playing with their toys or watching TV so they could empty the trash or mop up a puddle. They don't have the Neat trait, so they shouldn't be acting like that. It's just bad autonomy.
BTW I'd love to know what mod that is :)
