Kids shouldn't be cleaning autonomously....

Is this something has changed in the last four years? Because when I played Parenthood at release kids who made messes were not cleaning them up. Such as they would mess up the whole area in New Crest and it was the homeless (who pick up trash) who would come around and start cleaning up the paint messes. I'm thinking this is new? maybe since the Dust pack? Kids didn't clean up unless I played Parenthood in specific ways. I didn't have to cancel out washing the dishes and or trying to help with the toddler (teens) like I did back in TS2. Which was annoying often since I didn't want sloppy kids to clean up dishes back then. (they nerfed personality points with a clean up patch once in TS2).

This should all be trait related but if kids are doing a lot of cleaning then it sort of takes away from needing a maid and or the vacuum or playing a messy story or Parenthood.
