A modder once said they could not stop the automatic dishes cleaning 100% or it would effect the maid too. Don't know how true it is but maybe that's the reason...
It's true that it also affects the maid, but there are ways to tell the game that the maid is allowed to do stuff other Sims aren't allowed to do. It's not the classical autonomy mod though where you can just set autonomy to false and you're good. So that part is indeed true.
