Killing an active Sim?? Still need help, please.

Oh dear, there are so many options and they all depend on how... Obvious you want the drama. I find something poetic about Santa laughing himself to death, personally. So that would probably be my pick.

However drowning and starvation tend be the most practical in normal play, requiring only proper walls or fencing. You can rationalize them pretty easily, too. (Swam too soon after he ate; someone accidentally locked him in the basement. You get the drift.) Fire is usually also listed here, but I don't tend to like risking my other Sims and the house. It certainly is dramatic, though, and as long as you are starting over a new life it can be a nice bang to end with.

If you are looking for something closer to fire but not quite as risky to everything else, electrocution can be good. Lightning is too unreliable to wait on normally (plus charged state and all that gives too many passes), but broken electronics can be good. I liked this method more in the older games, back when no Sim I loved touched anything that sparked. Now it is much more rare to lose them, but bad mood means carelessness, eventual death, and a natural explanation all in one!

And for the times you just want them dead this very instant, with Cottage Living you can click cheat death by rabbit for the now most convenient death so long as you do not mind cheating.

Now that you bring it up, something about death by hysteria (but explained in head canon as a stroke or other sudden medical event...) is at the same time poetic for Santa.
I wonder how smoothest to bring it about (if that is indeed the way I go).

Oh dear, people complain about the emotional deaths happening by accident. I know I had it once at humor and hijinks.
But now that I'd kinda welcome it happening; it's so not! :#

Managed to get Zoe and Clement cursed by the knitting/sweater curse by accident though! :p

You don't need to explain it by 'head canon.' It is medically possible to die due to laughter. It ultimately can cause a heart-attack, as opposed to a stroke. Just search the Internet. Death by broken heart is also attributed, ultimately to a heart-attack and is very real.

However, that being said, Father Winter is a special NPC. I do wonder if he'll simply regenerate, or if another NPC will become Father Winter? This bears asking the question of someone who may know …

@GalacticGal - I had the Mayor of Finchwick die via Neighborhood Stories and wondering the same thing about a pretty integral NPC. So I visited the HOB and looked at the community board, only to find that someone else was now the mayor. Never heard of him before then; but it appears that the game picked right back up with a replacement like Lavina Chopra never existed. It was a little creepy... and caused me to make adjustments to my stories settings to avoid losing any more important NPCs.

I believe I have read that another Sim will spawn as Father Winter. Indeed this may have already happened in my game as I made him active. I will have a little look before I complete my dastardly plan…

I just shift click and select kill... usually by spell caster overload or wild bunnies. I guess it depends on how much storyline you want with it. My story line is that certain sims are cursed and die of the overload. It's quick and easy.

If they are an active member of the household then make sure to shift click on the Sim who's active or you'll kill another sim on accident. If they aren't active in the household (townie) you just shift click on the townie and it kills them even though your Sim is active.

Play as Clement, shift click on Clement and select your kill method if he's active. If not just shift click. That said if you kill clement you'll spawn a new Father Winter.

If you have a fireplace in your home, light it up during a heatwave and it will cause an overheating death.

Father Winter dying of overheating via a fireplace, there's something poetic and ironic about that!!

I think Clement has a hidden trait that makes him immortal like Baby Ariel has. I'm not sure if you can kill him off without cheats/mods.

I had a sim have a child with him, and I was originally planning to let him live in the family graveyard whenever he passed but he's just not dying. I'm thinking about just moving him in with Vlad at this point.
