Kind of annoyed at the scared emotion

I really like the scared emotion, but as others have said it needs to be better balanced. I feel like constructive criticism isn’t helpful here, because that too results in things getting nerfed. I mean why nerf something? It seems like a lazy way to address real concerns. I in no way want anything removed, just for the emotions to make actual sense. I have a Sim with the brave reward trait, he also has bro, self assured, and loves the outdoors. Why do I need to give a Sim like that the storm chaser trait, to stop him from being terrified of thunderstorms? It would however make sense for his girlfriend to be afraid as she has neat, perfectionist, and bookworm traits. I think it seems to be more of an issue with traits not doing much to make Sims different from each other, not so much an issue with the emotions themselves.
