So... My only non toddler alien (adult actually) needs to give out an apartment key for the Insider aspiration and I thought it would be quite cool to have him handing out a key to his only friend tha...

They can't exactly "clean you out".
Unless you have mods that get rid of it, there are moodlets associated with stealing that prevent stealing more than one thing every couple of Sim hours.
So the worst would be one item per visit. Though if her mischief skill is high, she could probably even steal your TV or something.
If you just want to complete this for the aspiration, you could can give her the key and then take it right back.
Or you could just lock your front door.
Even if they have a "key" they can't get through a door that is locked to them. (logiiiiiic, right?)
