Kudos to whoever...

Added the stay over for awhile feature. How do you all like it?

My sim had an interesting experience. My sim met Luna Villareal and befriended her. A few days later she calls and says her family is in a pickle and needs a place to stay for a few days. I should have had my sim just hang up the phone, but thought, why not. It was chaos. They fought and argued constantly. When they finally left, my sim took a long deserved vacation. :D

I LOVE it! I got the expansion this week and although I haven't had a request to stay over for a few days yet (looking forward to it) I have had one Sim ask a Sim in my household to move in. And I let her. Their relationship bar (the green one) was very high, almost full and considering that the Sim that got asked and the other two in the household were all 'starving' students so getting a fourth one to move in that had already graduated (via the game mechanics as this was a townie) and able to get a high paying job makes all the difference.

Yeah, I like that they are asking to move in too. That should have been in the game from the start. Although sometimes it's really awkward, like they want to move in, but haver a spouse and children back at home and if you refuse they sometimes get a hurt sentimate. I figured a way around it though. Say yes to the move in then once it brings up the screen to actually switch sims to a new household just hit the x in the corner to close it and its like they never asked to move in.

It would be nice if they somehow worked in the fact they have spouses and children into the equation of "ask to move in".

I haven't played much, but I did try the pack out for a bit.
I was playing Sofia Bjergsen and she happened to be pregnant. Her sister wanted to stay over and it just seem like perfect timing with the baby almost ready to be born.

It was really nice and made the game feel more like how a Sims game should feel.
The suit case really helps sell it. The compatibility feature helps too.

@Arzekial That does seem odd considering the Roommate feature takes those things into account and has been in the game for a long time. If someone has kids at home they will refuse to be your roommate because they have "responsibilities at home." Yet those people will still ask to move in?
  • I like the feature in general. I played my sim since she was a teen and she had her friends and future boyfriend stay over which was cool. But… now she lives with her boyfriend in the apartment in the city. Just moved in and they don’t have a child, because I want them to live YA life to the fullest at first. And boyfriend got a call from his father saying that they are coming to stay over to help with the little one. Bummer. I thought game will know when my sims will have a kid, I certainly didn’t think this question was an auto pop up after sim moves out of the family home (boyfriend in this case, as my sim is an orphan). I don’t mind it that much, but still i was surprised and it wasn’t very positive.
  • It's very cool, my current family has the grandparents staying over after they just had twins. It's a farm so the help is really nice, though they keep stealing the harvestables and eggs if I don't lock them out before my sims get them first :D

Probably would have been better if they didn't die from old age during their stay, but otherwise a great visit. :p

Rofl. Thanks for my morning giggle!
  • I love it! It has come in handy in a few game plays of mine, autonomously cleaning and helping with babies is so helpful!
