I completely agree. It's extremely frustrating. Especially when it comes to the shades of wood items that are available. They're always one or two shades lighter than the object you're trying to match...
The other thing that we're lacking that I noticed is a sliding glass door. We've had them in all of the other Sims games. I love having one to go out to the backyard/patio area so that it can let a little light in.
