Laptop or Desktop?

"Gaming" on a laptop is a sin in my house.


Jk. If you want to game on a laptop, that's fine. I just really hate it.

My pc is by Cyberpower, runs great, I play on ultra and it's very smooth. The only pack I dont have is JtB or the kits and I have a fair amount of mods.

The only issue I have is with my Razer Mamba wireless mouse. Here lately I havent been able to click and drag with it despite numerous calibrations, so havent been able to play much.

Asus ROG gaming laptop Nvida GEForce GTX 960m, intel i7 core. It's a few years old, but it's still a good computer. I'd love to play on a desktop, but you know, don't really have the space for it atm. But it runs fine for me, I don't even use laptop mode. I have it sitting on a cooling fan platform to help with the heating issue. Tried playing on Mac before, and it lagged a lot on it. I have all of the packs except for the Starwars one, and the clothing kit. I do run a good amount of mods, but S4 still runs well for me.

I used to play S3 on my old Toshiba laptop, and it was not good. But who knows if it was the laptop or the game lol

What kind of system do you play your The Sims games on if you play PC version of them?
Macbook Pro 2018.

What brand of system? (HP, Dell, etc)
Mac. When I had a desktop, I think it was HP.

Do you have all the games or some?
I'm assuming you mean packs? I have all but 4 or 5 stuff packs, and I don't have the kits. If you did mean games, I currently have Sims 2 UC on a partition and Sims 4 installed. I used to have 2,3 (every pack), and 4 (only 1 pack at the time).

Have you had any technical issues with your system?
Not really, unless you consider playing with the graphics on high as apposed to ultra a technical issue. The fan kicks into high gear about 30-60 minutes into playing and I stop for a few minutes to let it cool off. But that's an issue with most laptops. Desktops really do handle games better, but I switched to a laptop years ago for various reasons (the same time I switched to Mac from a Windows machine).

If you’ve played or play on both, which do you prefer?
I'll say laptop, because it's so convenient. I can sit anywhere. I've played Sims while stuck at the kids' dentist appointments.
I do miss the dual monitor setup I had when I had with a desktop though, it was great for building. But I make do now with my laptop and an Ipad.

Zalman. It's almost 6 years old and I bought it on chillblast.com.

I have all but the Kits and the Star Wars pack.

Always desktop for gaming. Always.

I play ts3 & 4 on a dell alienware ssd laptop and ts2 on an iMac

Right now I have an Acer Travelmate still running Win 7 (dino, I know) but I'm going to upgrade to an HP Pavilion gaming laptop as soon as the next stimulus checks are delivered. I'm beyond excited. I'd love to play on a desktop, but I'm older and I've had a stroke and have mobility and other issues. I get too tired and achy sitting in a regular chair for long periods, even if I had a desktop, which I don't. A laptop allows me the freedom and comfort of playing the Sims in bed or from my comfy recliner.

Gaming laptop, don’t have space for a computer, these threads are never without the few comments saying pc is better ??
I use a cooling pad for it to keep it good

I have an Alienware desktop with crazy specs that I got last year. I used to play on an Alienware laptop. Both laptops and desktops can run the game on ultra if you have the right specs. I use all the mods, cc, and objects that I want on giant lots and still play lag free while watching YouTube or doing something else at the same time. I have almost all the packs. I just don't have the latest kits and SP.
