Last name didn't change after getting married.
I moved two sims in together and when they got married, the female still has the same last name she did before they got married, and their child has her last name.

You can change Sims' names anytime you're in CAS, even if it's just Plan Outfits.
Sims don't automatically change their name in Sims 4. Do you use MC Command Center? It has name-changing settings - check what yours are set at.
