laundry and University housing

Question

I'm going to have my sim live in Maritime Manor, the University off-campus housing.  I was thinking of putting in a laundry room.  Does laundry work in university housing?    Wondering if the non-active roommates would even do laundry.

I remember someone had done this, and they mentioned how the dormmates never did any laundry and there was dirty laundry all over the place.

I have done that every time. Here are my observations.

Roommates never seem to generate dirty laundry. Only playable sims.
There can be roommates who do the laundry.
The maid who visits once a week also does the laundry.

It's weird because when I downloaded the laundry pack, it never changed the game play for me in university. But I had already started when I downloaded it and she was in the dorm itself so maybe that was the issue?

well, i just threw a small laundry room in the basement.  If anything,  it just adds some realism even if it's not used.  I haven't played since i put it in but will soon
