Nothing wrong with vacuuming the carpet.
It is when people use the vacuum for the garden is when I get concerned and I actually expect that to be something they would put in TS4 just for the added 'wow factor'

It seems to be something that older people like to do. Elders have always needed more things to do in THe Sims anyway!
