This! I probably do this for every single household, as soon as they can afford to buy the trash can.
I used to visit the different worlds to collect from different plants, which means hanging out in different lots for extended periods of time. Now, I mostly visit the produce stall in San Myshuno where I can purchase majority of the edible plants, or wait for the spice festival.
