-Most of my sims only have one outfit in each category unless it's in their character to be a clotheshorse.
-Most of my sims don't wear much makeup or jewelry... I can't be bothered to set that up unless it's really out of character not too.
-When playing a large family (4 or more to me) I often send some of them to bed at odd hours just to not have to play them because I want to focus on others. When the first group has full energy I switch.. Yeah time/needs management is not my fav way to play.
I don't mess much with the clothes, either. I spend a lot of time when I first create a Sim getting their main outfit, workout and sleep outfits right, but I don't give them additional outfits in those categories. I let them game choose the formal, party and swimsuit, since my Sim is never going to wear those. (Swimsuits will be more useful with Seasons - I can't wait for my toddler pool!) I'm perfectly okay with them wearing the same thing every day, as long as I like the outfit and it suits their personality/storyline. (Actually, this isn't so different from real life for me - I tend to buy several outfits that are more or less the same.)
