Legacy Update Was Heartless

The update erased years of work… I didn’t even know it would happen until after it did. I can’t afford a new laptop but I’ve spent countless hours contributing to the gallery and now I can’t even look at it. All my work is gone… I’m really disappointed in who ever made the call- because from the look of things anyone who couldn’t afford the transfer is dead to the company. All our time, trust, and emotional investment amounts to nothing after one update.

While this post wasn't flattering I hope you'll let it stand. I feel betrayed by my favorite brand, I'm very upset, and I'd like to use this post to mourn the loss of years of creative expression.

  • I haven't been on my laptop for a while, updated with legacy nd realised my sims, and houses had gone. I hope that I can download them. But it has put me in good stead as I have come up with making a few Christmas lots and sims.

Thanks for the link, it was helpfull. As it states online access is not allowed, I found that I could see other lots and sims but I can't upload my own lots.
Will I need to try and see if it works without legacy via the play options in origin, which I think won't give me the option as it is32 bit machine. I'm tempted to roll back my laptop hence I did it once and I had to repair the game.
I'm nearly ready to give up and buy a new laptop or go back to sims3. I don't particularly want to buy laptop as I shall have to wait to new at to download everything due to bandwidth.

I've noticed quite a drop in players online recently. Maybe there were more 32bit players than EA thought. The trouble is that most laptops these days don't have good enough video cards as they have to be light enough to carry around by students. I didn't see one good enough when I went to my superstore recently. They were only shown online.

It might get a lot of simmers over their addiction temporarily though, study a bit more and start saving for a new machine. I had to for Sims 1,2 and 3.

I'd say most of players are offline, many without them wanting to be. I've noticed since the last patch, that regardless of the fact that I am online, that origin is online, when I go to get on the gallery I have to connect to get online to browse the gallery. I believe James even had that same thing happen to him in one of his videos where he was trying to look at his past builds for the upcoming console/gallery update.

From what it looks like, all players are being forced offline until they actually go to use the gallery. So the "online" players are likely only players that have loaded up the gallery, unlike used to when I was online the whole time during gameplay and could quickly and easily load up the gallery.
