Yeah, I think that assumption comes from the perception that we're playing with virtual Barbie dolls. We live in Barbie houses, have tea parties and play dress up. Lol
I had a cousin who was almost the same age as me as a kid but was a girl, and we played barbies all the time...boys can play with barbies too. Where I'm from, traditional 'gender roles' are very deliniated...boys get blue, girls get pink, boys get toy guns and cars, girls get dollies and toy baking sets...all very old fashioned. I still played with the barbies with my cousin, I just brought G.I.Joe to Barbie's playhouse (they were the same size back then).
Perhaps that is the origin of my love for Sims games.
Okay, that was totally an aside. My actual reason for replying again is because having the above thought made me remember one more "masculine" thing I'd like to see in the game. I've wanted this since the original TS1...I want GUNS in the game. I don't need to be able to shoot other sims, or even go hunting (though I'd like that)....but just being able to go to a shooting range and go skeet shooting would be something I'd, personally, be interested in seeing in the game, as a more stereotypically "masculine" hobby.
