There is not much purpose in visiting Granite Falls in winter season. The hermit is not there. The plants and insects are not there. We can fish, but the rivers don't freeze over. I like the camping aspect and I don't like much the collecting part because I always get disoriented in the forest. I think they could add activities like real rock climbing, ice hole fishing, swimming in the rivers there, snow sports like skiing, sledding, snowboarding, dog sledding. They should try replacing the hermit with santa claus during winter. I think it would be nice if there were animals like mountain goats, eagles, wolves, foxes, rabbits, the abominable snowman. Sims could collect edelweiss, cornflowers, poppies, ferns and fir/pine cones which, if planted, will grow into trees, hazel nuts and chestnuts they could roast. Sims could buy bear rugs and rabbit furs to decorate their house with. Bee boxes placed in an alpine meadow would yield better quality honey. As new recipes, we could have honey wine, and honey drops (for cough or just for something sweet), hot spicy wine and chocolate, pumpkin and cabbage pies and a stag roast. And some hot springs for winter skinny dipping would be fun.
