Lets talk about non-consentual alien abduction pregnancies...

I've been playing the Sims 4 a lot recently, exploring aspects of the game I've forgotten such as becoming an astronaut when my recent sim was abducted after using his telescope.

He was returned and on the path to "motherhood" a feature of the Sims 4 get to work, I'd totally forgotten and was totally unwanted in my current game or any game. I literally had to load back 3 save files to reverse this - and I was not happy to do so especially because my sim had a pregnancy forced on them by an unknown person without consent.

I don't care if this only effects male sims, its STILL a NON-CONSENSUAL act of pregnancy that is only possible by being abducted.

Did I just quote a adult mod or something? Nope, its the Sims 4 rated teen!

If somebody told you that they were abducted and forced to become pregnant with a strangers child - you would not be laughing. In the Sims its still a game yes - but its a very annoying and violating experience for my sim to experience no matter HOW THEY IDENTIFY or who/what abducted them. I don't find it funny, I don't find the results funny and in no way was it wanted.

Terming the abductor as "alien" in a game still doesn't remove the fact that this is a non-conseual intimate act that is changing their body and being forced on my sim by other sims I have no ability to stop other than not to use telescopes. Seriously? I have to restrict my sims from doing an activity than anybody of any gender or age should enjoy (star gazing).

Sure I could use mods to disable or get rid of the baby forced on my sim - but lets just sit on what I said for a second. I have to USE MODS to CANCEL a FORCED pregnancy. That in itself is just wrong.

You can argue that I'm being sensative, thats fine but the fact is abducting somebody and forcing pregnancy on them (real or not) is just not funny, its frustrating to deal with in-game and violating in general as a non consentual act. Just look at how many topics have been started on this forum alone going back to 2015 about how to avoid this "feature" or reverse it.

If your sim wants to have an alien baby than they should do it the old fashion way...build a spaceship and go meet some.

EDIT 2: I agree and believe a direct toggle option to disable or enable this feature, should be added to give players more control over it is probably the best option. It allows players who want it in their game to be present and possibly even buffed, but just as importantly an option to turn if off. Giving players the ability to give or remove consent of what content they feel comfortable playing with in their game without censoring it either.

EDIT 1: THIS IS A VALID THREAD dealing with assault, it is not a joke thread. The content mentioned above can be triggering for people who have been victims of assault. Games like the Sims can to be safe spaces for some people, even if its "by aliens" its still a form of assault and its 2021, we can do better for a teen rated game.

Simply laughing it off or making light of assault in media has deeper society consequences because it desensitize the issue until real harm to a person is done.

Often the victims of assault are the last to be heard and the most common.

would have to join the science career to achieve the satelite. I don't like being told that I have to join a particular career for my save game just so I don't have to deal with my male sim becoming pregnant. Are you serious? lol.

Am I missing something here? Is this the deal we have?

@muzickmage , as I said before, your sim does not HAVE to be in that career, build/buy enabling cheat will let your sim to have that said satellite.

Yes, I saw your earlier post. Mods or cheats, that's our protection. I have to cheat my way out of a game function. That's really a great alternative isn't it?

New players (for their protection) better learn the cheat codes quickly.

Edit: Seems to me that the satelite should be in the build/buy to begin with, without needing to cheat it there.

Believe me a lot of the fantasy players were upset with the satellite being locked behind a career too because a lot of us want higher chance of abductions without having to use mods and cheats too. Why I was hoping for a liveable space world for aliens to live so we can have them expanded upon more with options.

Ok, now i'm getting a tab bit confused from all the different back and forth opinions - so i'm going to work this out from scratch.....

Question: Is it "possible" for a male sim to be impregnated by an alien without the "player's" consent?

It's a random event that player can't control, unless player catches interaction in queue and cancels it. Besides, it's all laboratory work carried by pollination technicians.

The best events are the ones that are random and that player can't control. They bring surprise into game.

But the story goes, the aliens inplant the seed perhaps through the bellybutton. A tiny laparoscopic incision. The male anatomy is the perfect environment for incubation. The water sack contains nutrients the baby needs. Then unfortunately a Csection is required to get the baby out.

That’s it. From now on I’ll be covering my bellybutton.

lol well....you may have to cover your face according to @Umbreon12 mention of pregnancy by face-hugger thing. :# lol yikes

-Btw, when your sim comes back dazed, that's just a little general anesthesia. Your sim will sleep that off in what, 6 hrs. Tops ;)

This is pretty much how I always saw it. I never ever imagined it was anything sexual.

Aliens go hand in hand with the science career and it seems to me that it would be more likely to be an implantation experiment or something like that which occurs. Something very science-y, and nothing to do with woohoo at all.

Maybe the issue is not with the content of the game but with the content of people's minds?

I found this thread when searching for "what is the point of alien abductions in sims 4". I agree about the forced pregnancies. There is still no option to not allow that without using a mod as far as I can find. I have only had it happen with one family I played and it messed with my game. Funny thing is, my current family, consisting of a wife and her two husbands, and one of them gets abducted on a weekly basis I'm sure. The husbands used to be married to other people and they were abducted all the time back then. The wife was someone that one of the husbands took under his wing because she was an orphan and had no family and had to steal for a living. She lived in an empty apartment so I think the apartment was the reason she never was abducted until they got an actual home. Then it became consistent with all three of them and thankfully, so far, there have been no pregnancies. Which is rather wild considering how often they are abducted. I mean I will hear the music and think, "ugh, they probably just took Jake again." He is the one it happens to most often. I find it crazy that someone wants their sim to be abducted and can't make it happen. There is no telescope and never has been on my sim's lots. I prefer to use a chess table for them to gain logic since they can socialize while playing. No satellite dishes. I had no idea that was available. I wish I could give my alien luck to someone who wants it. Having three sims constantly taken, and for no point or benefit that I can see, other than spamming their milestones with the repeated abductions, is just plain ugh.

    Happy Simming :)
