One of the things they mentioned with the Fashion Influencer career is that you might see townie Sims running around in outfits that your Sim designed. It sounds like it might help people who want to do an Old West setting or Space Age, etc. Maybe if you put enough townies in long skirts or alien garb, eventually you'll get everyone to dress that way. (Or maybe not. But it's nice to think it might be in the realm of possibility.)
I'm kind of hoping for this too. I still don't know enough about it but it got me thinking in that direction.
