I still can't create families without them wanting to kill themselves with overbearing fears that are impossible to remove(thanks lovestruck) so I proably won't be playing the expansion. I probably won't ever buy a expansion for this game again unless EA can get their stuff straight. The game is fundamentally broken but everyone seems fine with it as long as creative mode works, but, I'm not and I hope everyone on the Sims 4 team quits and finds better jobs.

I know that the death gameplay will be buggy at first.😭 So while I'll wait for it to be fixed, I will be enjoying the Ravenwood World. The Ravenwood has a Medieval/Victorian vibe to it & I so love historical worlds.😍 Also, I've noticed some Medieval outfits in the new pack. I'm so excited.🤩

Just watched the reveal trailer, it looks interesting and good, but they're really milking the fact that simmers are willing to pay that much for something that looks like a game pack, not an expansion pack. The vampires, magic and wolves are game packs and this looks like it fits in to that category. I could be wrong but that was my impression from the video.
Edit: Been reading more info about it and my initial statement has to be changed, and I'm gonna move my butt over to the positive threads instead.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can definitely see where this pack would not be for everyone, and particularly in your situation, at this moment. But I do think that for some other simmers, who are at a different stage in their grieving process, it could potentially be healing. Simmers often use aspects of the game to roleplay or work through issues in their real lives when it is uncomfortable or painful at a given point to do so, or when they are not comfortable expressing certain emotions, outside of the game. So I don't think they need to rethink the pack, but just as they have done in the past, continue to balance different themes and types of packs for different players.

Hey Simgirl1010 can you embed some the tweets of the gurus about the pack at the casual info thread.

The trailer was interesting but I think we need a lot more information. The gameplay trailer and the developer livestream should help. If not, the embargo lifting for the EA Gamechangers will also make a difference.
Will deaths be updated where death in a bed like in the trailer can occur? Will we see the essence of a sim leave their body? The current base game death when sims die of old age is pretty sad, they just fall down on the ground and become an urn.
What is the playable Grim Reaper career? Is it like the career from Paranormal Stuff Pack? I don't want a reskinned version of that.
I saw that the specters from the paranormal stuff pack have already been reskinned and are in this pack. We already had haunted houses in Paranormal Stuff pack, but I see it listed as a feature here in this EP.
Funerals look like Weddings from My Wedding Stories which wasn't working until this last patch that we got. Even though it still isn't 100% work reliable, as sims still did not sit where they were supposed to. The English Simmer did a video to see if weddings have improved based on this latest patch but some guests still did not sit down, someone ate the cake before the wedding started, and the officiant portion did not work. So if they can't get working weddings, and the funeral system is going to to be very similar (set lists of activities, location and time, dress code/color, etc), I don't see how these can function.
I don't like playable ghosts being locked behind a paywall. In previous sims games, ghosts were playable from the jump. We didn't even get ghosts from day 1 in the Sims 4, it was eventually patched in. They could have patched in the option for playable ghosts, even if they leave some of the features to haunt or help the living out.

You can control them like any other sim (and they have special interactions too). And you can edit their appearance in the CAS. They have all the same customization options, except you can't choose their walkstyle.
There's even a cheat to add them to the household. Simply click on a gravestone while holding down the shift button (testingcheats must be enabled) and there's the option.

I'm sorry but neither TS1 nor TS2 featured playable ghosts at any point.

What do you mean by playable ghosts being locked behind a paywall? You can make ghosts playable in two ways:
- Befriend a ghost (relationship must be high, almost max), and ask them to move in.
- When testingcheats are enabled, you can simply shift-click on the ghost's gravestone and add them to the household.
And the ghost is then part of your household. And you can control them like any other sim. And they have special interactions too (with some deaths giving even more new interactions).
So, playable ghosts are not locked behind a paywall. They can be playable since they were added in.

Only in The Sims 3 and The Sims 2 for console versions only. The Sims 3 required your sim to complete an opportunity to add a ghost to the household. In The Sims 2 console games, sims that died immediately became a ghost you could control and their goal was to get resurrected.
The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 for PC didn't feature playable ghost. The Sims 1 did feature a charm that made your sim a ghost temporarily though.

I hope the world gets dark and gloomy during the winter and fall seasons.
