If the year was 2014 or 2015 I would agree with you. But it's 2020. If someone is still playing the game they unhappy with, joke's on them. Like... how do you spend 6 years and 700 bucks on the game you don't have fun with?
Please stop framing sims 4 players as victims. People who don't think sims 4 is worth their money and time don't buy new packs, don't play sims 4 anymore and go back to sims 2&3. I totally respect that. But people who still play sims 4 and buy new packs are neither mazochists nor fools. No one plays the game that long unless they have fun with it. At this point Sims 4 is what it is, could be better, could be worse, there are reasons to hate it and there are reasons to love it.
And if you like the game you probably would want a new feature that expand the game in a meaningfull way. This is what expansion is supposed to do. And they are not free.
Sure, some people bought sims 4 by mistake. It's unfortunate. I can relate. I bought Civilization V, played it for an evening, got bored and never played it again. I didn't really like Heroes V. Buying a game is a gamble. I can relate to dissapointment. I can't relate to an arguments "I paid 50 bucks expecting to have 5000 hours of fun, but the game was only fun for 500 hours so now the EA owes me".
The Sims 4 is live service game, meaning they should be updating the game consistently and making it better. And, we were promised complex personalities in the base game, and this has not been delivered. Thus, personalities should be better at this point, without having to spend $40.
Since this game is still a live service, technically the customer does have the right to complain and make requests.
Also the people complaining about this are usually the ones who are most passionate about the series, and aren't just being whiny. They want to see the game get better!
So please stop blaming the customers and please stop gaslighting people so you can defend corporations that make millions of dollars. Companies do need to be held accountable for their actions. And if customers want to complain they are entitled to.
I am sick and tired of the rhetoric of "you bought it, so don't complain!" Customers have every right to complain. And they have every right to make suggestions. If developers refuse to listen, then their game will fail. And fail is something I see the Sims 4 do day after day!
So please stop making EA the victim.
