Lifestyles: how's your experience?

I made the mistake of giving them a second chance and turned them back on. My sims are all miserable again now on their vacation. I think for me they are a failed concept much like the N.A.P's of Eco Lifestyle. The idea sounds good when it's presented but the implementation is actually terrible. I've turned them back off and that's how they will stay in my game from now on.
