I was looking forward to the personality changes most of all. However, as with most things with TS4, it seems that the feature is all about telling rather than showing. In TS4, personality and feelings continue to be mainly expositional. For once, I'd like to actually see what the game says is happening.
If there is more to the new additions to the personality system than what I observed, the Gurus failed to illustrate or to explain them sufficiently.
I was seeing other Oshinsims video (not the one above) and she literally said that "moodbufs and their explanations for this pack are numerous and she was constantly reading them to see how sims feel". And this made me very suspicious. I feel like sims is somewhat a text rpg now. I do not want to read to understand how sims feel. I want to see it in their actions and whims. But her newest video reassured me a bit. I hope that sentiments will lead to the improvement of sims behavior in the end.
I am willing to bet EA has totally neglected whims with this pack.
Which would be sad, because sims getting whims associated with sentiments would be a powerful combination for game immersion.
I will have whims turned on in hopes I get lucky with a whim that goes well with the active sentiment.
EA stopped adding new whims ages ago. I think it was back when they added the option to disable them.
I'm hoping they might be re-working them. I admit it's a slim hope, but I don't see why they would abandon the current system otherwise. I don't believe whims are very difficult to add.
