  • The fact that she's talking about this tells me generations might be this year. Or something like it. That thought bubble of a toddler riding a tricycle wasn't for nothing ?
This seems like a new marketing strategy. (But a good one. I like it)

I know this is a hot take but Parenthood added as much to the game as Generations and honestly in a better way (you can actually parent how you want instead of the enforced curfew and scolding, no IF dolls) for half the initial price. Some of the things that Generations was selling itself on were included in the TS4 base game anyways (you couldn't have a proper wedding in TS3 until that pack dropped) Yes I still miss strollers and bachelor parties and getting rich off wedding gifts.

EDIT: and yeah the daycare profession too. But EA is allergic to generating new kiddos so I guess it'll never happen (not like it stopped TS3 though)

Generations brought some cool things we all miss but I think players are more so stuck in nostalgia. Parenthood tried to go deeper into meaningful parenting and mood swings and raising a child, punishment and curfew at your own will.
    Really cool stuff it added.

Though I would love a generations style pack myself that focuses more on kids this time, I have to give credit where it's due.
  • Eh, I don't really care for generations, didn't interest me in 3 and it probably won't in 4
  • Whether it's your cup of tea or not, I think there's no denying the game is in dire need of a Generations expansion. It also needs to be integrate and expand on Parenthood and its character values system, since neglecting that could set it up for failure imo.
  • Wow, so many of y'all seem to be missing the point?? Also, it obviously won't be anything like TS3's version and Kayla was just saying what she wanted to see. Why judge it so closely. Whatever problem you had with the way TS3 executed some things, you know it won't be that way in TS4. It's the idea of it that people want.

When people say Generations, they basically want the life stages to be expanded upon, which is what the point of it in TS3 was. And as we all know, TS4 is extremely lacking in gameplay for any age that isn't Young Adult. Something that makes the ages stand out from each other, something that makes you want to play as those ages instead of instantly aging them up, something that makes them unique. This is still a game, after all. Generations did that wonderfully.

Parenthood was a good step, but it's a Game Pack and...it's in the name, PARENThood. It focused on the parenting. It's not a replacement, as also stated by a guru.

By the way, Kayla's not the only Game Changer who's spoken up about wanting Generations.
  • I feel like Generations pack should allow kid and teen sims to attend to their respective schools, toddlers to daycare, babies to nursery, and young adults and over to go to "playable" work (like in Get Famous and Get to Work). I would love for older sims to own cars and drive (driving skill) and also allows events for ages as well. For teenagers I would love for them to go to prom or for older sims a work trip or vacation. I also would like to be detailed during teen to adult life stages, such as going through puberty, and would work well with emotional stages from Parenthood game packs. The Generations pack would be a strong expansion because of the expansion of jobs, events, and life stages.
