So far I only see set dressing. I can't get excited (yet). Unless something miraculous happens, I don't think I'll decide to come out of buyer retirement for Sims 4 with this pack.
There were so many opportunities with this theme, that just went Maxis by.
An overhaul of the personality system with things like personality points and interests in addition to the current emotional system (or replacement) to make sims more unique. Aswell as turn ons/turn offs and fears/wants.
New ways to travel with sims that are more immersive, like cars, subway, taxis and no out of or onto the street.
Vampires would have been perfect for this theme, and also for this game, since they are eternal young adults basically.
Improved social interaction multitasking gameplay - sims doing things together that doesn't involve chatting only. (I'd love a patch that adds sims jogging and hiking or walking together)
And as far as apartments go, I'm not holding my breath that we'll get what we want - mark my words there will be missed features, and features missing or lacking detail. I'd gladly be wrong about this, but all the experience with this team tells me not to bother to get excited, sorry to say.
I'm happy for everyone that is excited, I just can't be myself. I was for like a split second, and then I could only see all the potential holes in features.
Based on what I saw from the trailer; the apartment buildings are just deco shells with some apartments inside.. There is one shot in the trailer that shows deco furniture in a window, it looks weird. Its just an image backdrop on a window so it looks like that there is furniture inside the apartment. Its really flat. (I posted that in the disappointed if we cant build our own apartment topic).
This EP is pointless to me if we cant even build our own apartment buildings from scratch and put them in other worlds too. What a creativity right? We rule!.. -not-. No wonder why they won't tell us anything about apartments yet, since it will be most likely a massive disappointment.
