I'll start with what I don't miss first
Hot tubs taking space for the plumbing on the level below.
Not being able to freely move between all the different worlds.
Losing relationships just because your sim moved
Building on lots, in general, I really love being able to build a lot more in Sims 4
Hats and accessories being attached rather than being separate.
Newspapers
landlines
If a room wasn't lit enough or "unfinished" your sim would be whining about it. It's why as a builder I put plenty of light in my builds because it's still a habit held over from building in 2 and 3. Seriously one light should be enough to light a room not 5 6 or more and that was with just using ceiling lights.
Having have x amount of friends to gain charisma skill,
Having to be limited on what you can choose for lifetime dream/goal/"aspirations" and having it solely based on personality traits
Teens having to live at home with a young adult and older
The only options for a household - housemate and parent if they are older than your sim. Why can't a teen sim live with their older brother or sis?
Only one wall height. I know I complain a lot about a lot of things that are in Sims 4 but I love having different height walls in Sims 4.
Not being able to change the look of the sides of a deck.
Having to use columns if you want a balcony above the porch on the lower level,
Not being able to have a foundation and a basement for any build. What I really love about Sims 4 is a lot of the changes in building If I want a basement and foundation in Sims 3 I have to build a separate area for access to the basement
Simpoints to use in the store.
The limit of situation clothing, I like having summer clothes, winter clothes party outfit etc
Fireplaces making the whole build look ugly on the outside
Things I miss
The colour wheel and being able to change the appearance of build and buy items.
Terrain options like being able to build ponds and making an area not perfectly level if we wanted a little character to our lots
Build a World I loved this with Sims 3 and when I play Sims 3 I like building new worlds with this fun tool.
Spiral staircases, elevators in private lots, the cute tubes from Back to The Future. ladders and poles instead of just standard stairs. I really cannot stress that enough. I hate having to use more space than I want to just for stairs in a build. Yes, I know there is a mod out there for elevators which I have to save on space.
Platforms in builds I always thought it added a touch of class. When I play Sims 3 I add it to my bathroom builds and place the tub right on top
Getting more content when I would buy any pack no matter the size and price.
Being able to play without the use of mods and CC
The size of worlds Worlds with lots of empty lots, houses etc
Sims having more than 3 traits per sim without mods. YA Sim and up 5 traits, teen 4, kids 3
The number of traits to choose from for our sims without mods
The ability to buy the town and have more than one home owned
magic
being able to play - werewolves fairies, genies, ghosts, witches, etc. without mods
Dragons
Things for our child sims to do. One of the many reasons I do not play kids in Sims 4 is because of the lack of things they can do other than my usual "bad luck" with being able to keep their parent or guardian alive. I know I can play without emotional deaths but it wouldn't be as fun.
Easy bake oven :) one of the many fun things a kid can do
Astrological signs to choose for a sim
being able to choose their favourite food, colour and music. I really loved doing that
The choice at the beginning of a new game of playing a premade household or create a household of your own. I loved being able to play a premade household when I would get a new pack to familiarize myself with it.
Vehicles... Ok, I know, keep it green! Couldn't we at least have skateboards and bicycles to get around town in Even hybrid cars and trucks and motorcycles? Wolfgang Munch really should have a motorcycle to pick up Cassandra Goth on for their date. I wouldn't mind a moped, Segway or Scooter to get around. I am not saying our sims need gas guzzling Hummers or that but something.
Not having use mods or CC When I played any of the former games in the franchise including Sims Medieval I never once thought I wonder if there is a mod for that out yet.
