Live Video Idea

Does making a livestream LP where the viewers decided what I do, albeit with some guidance by me, sound watchable. Essentially, I want to create a livestreaming series for my new YouTube and Twitch channel using viewers real time ideas to push the story's narrative along. Ideas and criticisms are welcome!

That's where the viewers come in. I'll just guide the story. For example, I'd tell the viewers that I'm making a single young adult sim to start. Then I'd ask them if the Sim should be a boy, girl, or even tran. From there I'd ask what kind of clothing style they should have like rugged, urban, ect. I'd also disregard ideas that don't improve the story/gameplay experience. Like if a viewer told me to kill the Sim in a fire. That wouldn't really work because our main actor would be gone.
  • This could cause conflict between the viewers if they have different ideas. Besides, what if they pressure you into something you don’t want to do?

Guided gameplay is the key. I'd offer them options. Not complete freedom. I'd say what hair color should they have blue, black, brown, or red. I'd take their recommendation, but they would choose from options I provide. I do see your point though. It's something to ponder.
  • Go for it. Why not? I've never seen anyone do anything like this, so you'd be the first. I'd watch it. But I'd like to see some violent options like murder or arson plus that's probably what a lot of people would like to see.
  • Sounds like a great idea! I don't find livestreams particularly interesting and rarely watch but I might if they were more interactive. I'd prefer something like letting the viewers choose a significant other from a couple of options. Or choosing traits. Something that would impact the storyline.
  • It depends both on you and your audience, but in general - that's a good idea. I've recently binge-watched Andrew Arcade's 'Not So Berry Challenge' done in that way (with the audience influence), and it was really fun to watch. I wish I discovered it earlier and actually could participate in the streams ;)
  • Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it. It's been a pretty mixed bag. At this point we have a 70% vote for "yes" and a 30% for "no" with a total of 31 participants. Anywho, for any actual viewer participation to occur, I actually have to have viewers lol. I'm going to build my base a bit, and then go from there. I'm also going to flesh out the idea a bit further until I've come up with a solution for arguing in the chat, as most of the "no" participates stated that's a common issue with these type of series. I guess we shall see. Again, thanks for you input.
  • This sounds really interesting. I haven't seen this before and I would imagine a lot of Simmers would find it really fun, especially if it became a generational type legacy. Choosing love interests, selecting a career, traits/aspirations and things like that would probably be really enjoyable for most of us. I would definitely be interested in watching an episode to see how it would turn out.
