Locked doors not working

Has any one else have trouble with door locks not working? I have tried to lock doors so roommates will not enter my sims’s apartment section and they keep coming in anyways. Is this a bug that has happened just recently because it was never a problem before?

    Seems like it is an problem with the A.I. and/or programming issue, not enough tweaking but a lot of adding.

    I've been playing on console lately and I don't think the locked doors work there. I tried to lock out the neighbors who keep barging in and even with it locked I brought my Sims back from vacation and someone was in their house. I'll give it a try when I play on PC and see what happens.
