Loosing Control (Angry), Sad+ Purpose of Life, (Tense) Missing Out Dreams?

What is all that about? There is one more, but I can't remember what is it called. It looks like is the new thing from like a couple of weeks ago, but those things are quite annoying. I need to find literature about how to deal with that new game challenge in the game because I feel I'm losing interest in the game already just because of those things.
  • I think your Sim gets these moodlets if you don't fulfill their Wants for a while. You should be able to disable them in the Gameplay settings.
  • Those are the wants and fears. You can disable them in game options, but beware, they won't stay switched off. Anytime you exit the game and come back in, switch households, travel, or go into CAS wants and fears switch themselves back on. A lot of people were hoping the August patch would fix this but it didn't. Hopefully it will be fixed sooner rather than later. In the meantime if you're ok with mods there are a couple of good ones out there. MissyHissy's Hopes and Fears mod, our @83bienchen's feartweaks mod are ones I use to deal with this problem. So far they are doing a good job of keeping fears at bay. Lumpinou has a good reroll wants mod too.
  • You can look in your simology panel (the thing at the bottom right that looks like a head) and check out your list of traits. If you have a Fear of Unfulfilled Dreams listed with your traits, then it is that fear.

@DaniRose2143 I second your endorsements of MissHissy's mods and @83bienchen's. I'm using MissHissy's Hobby Mod and Bienchen's WhimOverhaul, which includes the feartweaks.

Since I couldn't successfully turn Wants & Fears off, I decided to (once again) use mods to make the game playable. So far, the fears are under control and wants are more diverse and quite doable.
  • @lanlyn I've been lucky so far and no fears have popped up. I'm feeling more comfortable with not being able to shut the whole mess down. I'm with you the wants seem to be better too. I am getting the situational wants consistently now where before the mods it almost never popped up.

@DaniRose2143 Same here. I haven't seen any more fears since installing the mods. I'm thinking they'll rarely show up now and only when the situation warrants fear. I can live with that. And the wants make more sense now too.
  • @lanlyn Agreed. My one worry after the live stream was fears becoming something that hijacked the game, and sadly they did. I haven't had them get in my way but I've been lucky so far. I just didn't want these things popping up and making my sims act in ways that are against their personalities and ruining my saves. I feel like the mods I have in place are working well at preventing that.
  • I've just disabled them for the time being. A doctor, who flies into a rage because he didn't listen to some music is just.. well. Anyway. That old maxim about straw and the camels' back seems appropriate, I think.

    EDIT: (made less stupid)
