@Goldmoldar One would think that if EA in the past was as greedy as everyone thinks, they wouldn't have released the Create-A-World tool as custom worlds were in direct competition with their premium worlds. As much as I complain about The Sims 3 Store being overpriced, at least they gave us a tool to create our own worlds and didn't force us to pay extra to play in a desert world, for example. I don't know if you ever tried the CAW tool, but it's as powerful as a development kit. I still can't believe they gave such a powerful tool for free. But things have changed so much in these past 4-5 years.
Can you believe The Sims 4 is the FIRST Sims game without any official tools?
Something I appreciate about Skyrim and other Bethesda games in spite of bugs and other issues is that they provide one of the most powerful tools for gamers to create their own content. There have been full games like Enderal developed with that tool. I wish The Sims developers gave players the same power, but I know they want. Their philosophy now seems to be that the less power players have, the more dependent they'll become on DLC.

- The Sims 1 had way too many to count: The Sims Creator, Homecrafter, Make-A-Celebrity, etc.
- The Sims 2 had Body Shop (packed with the game) and HomeCrafter Plus.
- The Sims 3 had Create-A-Pattern and Create-a-World.
