I got bored playing to record that video. The Sims 4 bores me to death, to be honest. I enjoy building and CAS, but I can't play (live mode) for more than half an hour without getting extremely bored. My niece has almost every piece of DLC released for The Sims 4, and it doesn't really help much either. Yes, Seasons' holidays and Parenthood's interactions and character values keep you entertained for a bit, but when the novelty wears off all that's left is the same boring game with extremely boring and underdeveloped AI.
You do need to make up your own story in 4, and I'm not very good at it. I can make up a background for my characters and the way I want their story to go, but I need the game to make things happen to keep me entertained. The Sims 3 is full of that. Whether it's a Sim having a medical emergency at a park, a meteor strike, a burglar robbing my house, a mummy cursing my Sim, full moon spawning zombies to ruin my garden. I just feel like there are so many things going on I only need to fill up the blanks (like background story) and the game does the rest. I feel like if you don't have a very active imagination, The Sims 4 does nothing to keep you entertained.
