With the stump in buy catalog and able to get the special seeds from the Rare Seed packs (are those only available in Seasons though?) I guess they never really left. There was also a Growfruit challenge that offered as prizes special planter pots (you can get those in buy catalog with the cheat that unlocks all the locked items like career rewards), but you can still buy the Growfruit at the Ranger Station in Granite Falls if you have Outdoor Retreat installed.
