Make Sure You Listen to Your Little Voice …

I have carefully set up my calendar in this brand new game save. But, I may have been a tad too quick to click the check mark to indicate the holiday was complete. I was getting frustrated today because either my mod is busted, or something is interfering with it. I use Road to Fame which allows for your Sim that has achieved a high enough HitPoints (100/100) to perform concerts. The modder, Sacrificial, used the regular Karaoke machine, altered, to allow said Sim to sing, for that live experience. There is a list of goals to achieve, one of which is five songs must be sung. Plenty of time to achieve this. In fact, I think a seven hour concert is about four hours too many, myself. I have been to live concerts by the Biggest and the Best. Sir Paul McCartney. Twice. Well, to get back to my point of frustration, the songs weren't registering, even though my Sim was singing his heart out. The audience was happy, at least. I decided before he left the venue to take a quick moment to change out the karaoke apparatus, just in case the older version didn't sync up with the newer version of this mod. Haven't yet had a chance to test this.

This after realizing I couldn't find the Fan Meet & Greet in the Event menu. I removed a mod and it appeared. Then I replaced said mod with a brand new copy of it. The Event is still there, happily. Phew, dodged that Phaser blast.

However, the next day was Sunday. Through the sharing with another player, I have set up for my Sims to see to their spiritual well-being. They attend Church every Sunday. Only this time, Joseph, Sr., couldn't find the send to holiday services on his phone. (It's normally under travel at the top.) I tried one of his Teen sons. No go. Then I shrugged, (secretly fuming and ready to blame the patch) and decided since Erik had an invitation to do a concert, to send the family down to the venue. On a whim (my own) I decided at the last minute to change out the holiday using the Edit button. (I think I was going to have them dine out or something.) That's when I saw it. Nothing under the goals to fulfill. Nothing. Absolutely. Nothing.

So glad I didn't come here ranting and raving about this. Seems the only thing bugged is — (wait for it) — ME. Thankfully, I have learned to love me. No, I'm not senile, I just get going too quickly for my own good. Here's to laughing at my own Self.

I immediately sent my Sims to where they were supposed to be, and reasonably on time, too. Yay. Now, I have to go back and check on the other holidays coming up, just in case in my haste to fill the calendar, I didn't omit something again.

Moral of the Story: Listen to that little voice in your head. It's telling you something. LOL

  • The voices in my head tell me to burn things.

(jokes aside, I'd do well in gaming in general to heed the words of the stuffed animal on my desk. "Don't shoot that Sentry Bot with a 10mm pistol" or "don't instruct your sim to try for baby with her sister's husband" or "no good will come of setting your nuclear power plant in your city to go kaboom."

I'm too young for senility but apparently not too old for impulsive childish stupidity.

I do hope you never fall prey to senility of any kind. I watched with horror as my mother succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease. She all too quickly, (despite the medication that was supposed to slow it down) lost herself. And we, her. I think I suffer from impulsive childish stupidity, too. LOL

Nah, I'll die of something else long before I get to that point. >:)

On the bright side, even though I've got pretty badly reduced mobility from old sports injuries catching up to me (knees and ankles are completely shot), that just means a valid reason to play more Sims in my free time. Glass-half-full.
  • Good for you. You sound as if you've got a good outlook on life. Way to go!

Yeah, it's telling you that mods aren't going to be 100% playable all the time as it relies on a modder to make the changes with no guarantee the mod maker will correct the problems in a manner that works. You run them as is and that's the risk you take if they don't work out as expected.
