Making a Mermaid from CAS

You’d have to go to manage worlds and the button to move a sim in and it’ll take you to CAS. If you have the family in your gallery just bring them down and you can modify from there

But they are already in my library. They haven't been moved in yet. I'm still editing them in CAS but I can't seem to turn a sim I'm working on into a mermaid.

You have to make an extra sim and make that one a mermaid, or eat magic kelp. It isn’t possible in CAS.

You can get mermadic kelp in the reward store for 500 aspiration points. Just cheat the points and get the kelp.

This means you can never play with genetics in CAS and make a mermaid sim and make their child/teen a mermaid?

Then can I custom my mermaid when changing clothes? Or how is that done?

Huh? Once the Sim is a mermaid, changing them is no different than any other Sim, vampire, or alien. For basic changes (hair, clothes, makeup) you go into cas normally. For all other edits, you have to enter cheats.

You can do any genetics in cas, edits in cas, anything. But, same as a vampire, you either have to start them off as a vampire or take them in game and make them the occult (being bit to become a vamp or the kelp to become mermaid) but once they are the occult, you can do anything with them.

You just can not change occult types, Sim/human or otherwise, in cas, but you never have been able to with Sims 4.

I guess my confusion is that I don’t play with occult’s. I don’t play or have vampires. I don’t even really want mermaids other than this one.

Before I purchased the island XP i created a family in CAS that I wanted to use in Sulani. I was hoping I could just make one of those sims a mermaid. My mother aim to be exact. So all of her genetics are pulled through the rest of the family. Having to make her from scratch would ruin make it impossible to maintain her genetics. So annoying. (I’ve never done this before)

I feel your frustration. I made a sim I intended to be a mermaid but only saw that as an option for creating a second sim for that household, so I had to start over with her there (I hadn’t worked on her too long). Then I wanted her to have twin human boys and I kept rolling mermen using her genetics and an unknown sim to create a son. Maybe I didn’t roll enough times but I got impatient. So I created a human for her to combine DNA with, then finally rolled some humans. Then I felt kinda bad deleting their father, but ya know, I wanted a small family.
