Making Sims miserable

Am I the only one (surely not) who sets up a sim to have a chaotic life, throws them into a cheap stinky apartment with a chalk outline under the rug, gives them bad furniture and no money, plans to have them suffer constantly... and then ends up putting them in a nice house, with a good job, the motherlode cheat 800 times, a hot husband and 2.5 cute little children, and fluffy dog?

I liked previous games spontaneously making things chaotic for me, because clearly I don’t have the willpower to be mean to pixels. Please tell me I’m not alone :D

I send my sims into the same apartment and I always tell myself I won’t be bothered by the roaches and rat, but nope. I get angry after a few sim days and I have to move my sim out. I don’t use the mother lode cheat, that’s just so much. But once they have too much, I reset their money. I lose purpose for them if they become loaded

Oh, I am well-versed on making Sims suffer....but unlike in your game, there is usually no happy ending for them :)

In sims 1-3 I was so good at making my sims lives awful, sims 4 I’ve turned into some kind of potato fairy god mother.

I couldn’t even keep Vlad evil in my game. Now he’s a genius instead, lol.

Yeah, I have found the same thing. There are a couple of combinations of traits that will make them hard to get along with but mostly all sims lean toward being happy
