So I was playing Katrina Caliente, who I just moved in with Mortimer Goth. My plan was to get them romantically involved after Mortimer and Bella got a divorce. Suddenly I get a phonecall saying that I can inheritance a lot of money. I accepted and now I have to get married within 7 days to earn the inheritance money??? Yes! And my sims have earned very good money with it. I love this kind of things too :)

I love that pop-up. It’s one of the few things in the game that forces me to choose whether to stick with my story or head down a different path.

I was quite lucky with these so far. A wavering sim once got it, but even with the monetary incentive couldn't decide to commit (they got married much later, but I looked how much it would have been and split the money between the rest of the family, because it would have to go somewhere). Then another time one of my most greedy sims got the call the night after her first date with a high ranking business career sim, needless to say he wanted that money, too. They planned to divorce quickly, but then fell in love for real. And if I don't want to take the story hook at all I can always just collect the risk free play money.Only downside is it doesn't work for sims with the Carefree reward trait, because that one will negate the Tense moodlet timer.

Pretty much every single Sim I have eventually gets this. It has resulted in a couple of very fun situations.

This particular one came with Eco Living. I’m not sure if it was in the patch to base game or if it’s part of the pack itself. I just know that it showed up at that same time.
