I maintain my master save file on my desktop (folder labeled so game does not try to read it) and also on a flash drive which I keep updated at least weekly. Sims 4 is the only game I play. I always play my master save file. I am always saying that I have 1 game which has ? 5 saves? I think. It's just easier for me.
I won't use google cloud services any more because I did not like the consequences I endured by doing so. I suggest if you use google cloud that you educate yourself on how it works. But even then I recommend that you have a seperate backed up game file on your desktop or external drive.
I also do not use cc or mod so that I don't have to 'remove cc or mod' to verify which cc or mod is not working right -- or if any cc or mod that caused or causes an issue. Call me lazy but I prefer to keep it simple!!!
