For those saying TS2 got it better...have you played it recently? Without CC? I totally love TS2...but I can't help but feel some people are looking at this aspect of it through rose-colored glasses. The thing that drove me the most insane (and drove me to use a lot of BB-mode CC) was the difficulty in getting rooms furnished and decorated in a way that looked matching.
Now..once you add CC into the mix, it's a different story, especially with CEP. But you can't really credit TS2 for it at that point.
It's been a few months, but yeah. I mainly have CAS CC for TS2, and I don't have additional color swatches for bedding, chairs, etc. at all. The in-game swatches were always more than enough for me thanks to the fact that I can mix and match them however I want and there's a good variety of colors and patterns for the vast majority of objects, so the only thing that held me back any was when I only had the base game and just had fewer objects to choose from.
Besides, comparing TS2 BB with no CC to TS4 BB with no CC, and TS2 is still the obvious winner when it comes to customizing your furniture. TS3's Create-A-Style feature gives it a leg up on TS2, but out of the three games, TS4 is definitely the underachiever in terms of interior decorating.
