Well at least those only interested in an announcement for new content will know not to tune in and waste their time.
Oh but you know they're going to be ready to complain anyway. "Barbie430;c-17057421" wrote:

That tweet specifically says they aren’t going to be showing new content?
I predict it will just be a case of chat spamming university, university, university over and over. A well known game changer will be in the chat and people will be excited about that.
The devs will answer questions about their favourite dlc, favourite sims game, snark lightly on sims 3 and talk about their favourite breakfast food. Also throw in a vague statement about how they are soooo excited for whatever they are working on right now but can’t talk about anyway. Cue more spam in chat about university.
I really don’t see the point of the MM. it’s not personal to the Gurus I’m sure they are all nice people but the time surely could be better spent elsewhere?
Exactly. They are pointless.
If they have nothing to show/announce, why even bother with it.
Patches seem to become lesser and less, they cannot talk about anything future game related thing, so what's the point really.
Fan interaction, which is something people seem to complain about no matter what?
I think what some are looking for is a sense of direction and meaningful interaction with the community in relation to the game, concerning things like bug fixes, a timeline of things to come, etc. Of course meaningful interaction has different meanings for each person, but this is the “vibe” (I guess?) I’ve gotten over the past few months.
On top of being extremely tight-lipped about upcoming content and sometimes even patches, the gurus have been very cheeky about things this go round imo. Like, posting an up close photo of an untextured object on twitter in the name of “fan interaction” does not get me excited about the game. It just makes me roll my eyes and click off to go do or play something else. And the ever persistent “we literally can’t tell you anything about this thing, but it’s gonna be sooooo great! when is it coming? we can’t say that either but it’ll be Soon(tm)!” or being really vague on livestreams and in Q&A is kind of frustrating too, so I sort of get where people are coming from.
As others have said, I’m sure the gurus are nice people, but I have zero interest in their personal lives as it doesn’t pertain to the game. And (again imo) it just adds more empty fan interaction that people seem to not like.
Side note: I’ve always been puzzled by the fact that Maxis has such strict rules about what they can say about upcoming content when BioWare, another EA studio, has a roadmap for their game Anthem, and I believe there was also one done for Mass Effect: Andromeda (don’t quote me). It just seems weird to me that if EA is breathing down the devs’ necks to not say anything less than super vague regarding the future of the game that they would do so inequitably among their studios.
Yeah, it doesn't seem to be an EA policy across the board. Maybe it's because TS4 is outsourced and the Studio isn't the only team that builds some of this game.- catloverplayerSeasoned Ace35 minutes!!!

Yes, Simguru Duke (?) spoke about an idea that you posted him.
I missed the beginning - did they show the new community manager? Can he be seen anywhere?

@catloverplayer I don't disagree with that at all. I believe we will see an expansion in the latter part of June as well. But there is a lot more than that happening in June. I'm upset because EA has pulled another lockdown on releasing more info on everything they are planning to do, and how that might affect the release of future packs that are in the works. They recently upgraded the Gallery, Origin was down for almost a full day last weekend, and it looks as if we won't be getting an update until later this month if they decide to release one in May. I have many questions and concerns that I cannot find the answers to. Call me paranoid if you wish, but I have a feeling the update/pre-expansion patch in June will be a large one. Probably the largest we have seen since toddlers were released. How it might affect our mods, CC and saved games is high on my list of concerns even though I am looking forward to knowing what the next expansion is all about.
I'm still hoping the gallery will get the option to let us see inside buildings/houses. Grant said last year he knew people wanted that and then he said winkie face followed by that's all I'll say on that. What changes did this upgrade to the gallery bring? I thought they were just doing maintence. - paigeisin5New Spectator

That would be truly awesome. The screenshots that are automatically assigned to lots shown on the gallery are horrible. Many times there are trees blocking the view of the inside of the lots so we are unable to see exactly what that lot looks like unless we place it in the game. Yeah, I think it was just maintenance done to the gallery. I read a re-posted tweet from one of the gurus that stated they were going to change some options on the gallery that would go live in June. Again with the 'it'll happen in June' thing we've been hearing for a month. I tried to find it this evening so I could post it for you to read, but I can't remember where it was. I apologize for the confusion.
