We got that PlantSim scenario as a surprise, they weren't a big topic until that dropped. The frog collection scenario keeps with the outdoor theme of late in the recent scenarios. Too many outdoorsy references lately to be entirely coincidence. You said it, camping is nothing new, we've had for a while. It feels like it has to be a refresh. They've said more of those were coming, but all we've had to date is Spa Day.
If it has to be an update for Granite Falls, then a plantsim added to CAS would be nice. Not everyone wants to go to all the lengths of getting one in every story they make. I loved that about the Sims3(you could take any bin sim or any other sim and make it whatever supernatural you wanted right in CAS and look at how they would look) and loath it in the Sims4. Hold hands sounds like London Bridge or some game sims can play as singing interaction. Maybe they will make a portion of the place swimmable? A hammock, new gear, IDK at this point. I was hoping for Sulani underwater mermaid area and houseboats refresh myself.
