I think multiplayer Sims would be a game breaker for me, and hopefully most of us. I play enough multiplayer games to know that I don't like playing with other people. 'Nuff said. I already have enough Sims knocking my door down already.. Would the private dwelling trait still work? Haha.
Fences with locked gates work. I use them all the time in past sims games - in Sims 4 my sim keeps the doors locked and ignores anyone who knocks on the door unless she/he invited them over. My experience with past Sims online - nothing works. Other players who are in different time zones just show up when ever they want and wakes the sim up. Another reason online rots.
Chatting on forums is where they need to keep the chat. Not in my game. Online sims they also took your stuff - that cost real money - not sims money and you could not do a thing about it. You had to use more real money to get another one. It rots when it's your only toilet, shower, or bed.
There are dozens of ways to make games into multiplayer. But ingame options to chat is very rare in such games = even in games where you join a league to fight competitions against other leagues. So I strongly doubt that EA will make it possible in a game like this one.
Exactly how EA would make it i can’t guess though because it isn’t done in the same way for the Sims Freeplay and for the Sims Mobile either and I doubt that EA will use any of those ways anyway for the PC game.
An interesting way could maybe be inspired by the way it usually is done in farming games where you can buy needed things from other players or request things that you need. In such games this is usually done without chatting such that it works also between gamers who don’t speak the same language. In the Sims games there are even more options for EA to add ways to request help for different things from other simmers."Erpe;c-16468443" wrote:

Sims 3 had it when they added porting with showtime. We could send each other up to 5 presents a day as well as accept a chat or refuse it. You typed in what you wanted to say - it showed on the top of our screen. I believe it no longer works since they removed that port though.
All the games my husband has including wow and Counterstrike have chat. In wow they can type or use a microphone - it may be Skype - not sure. Sims online had typing and that showed up under the play screen.
There are you tube video's still out there and you can see the players talking in type. It's limited like twitter is.
EA has chat in several of their games - Battlefield, Star Wars. I believe Titanfall has it as well. You see the players talking during battles and stuff.- DomainGoat907 years agoNew SpectatorIf the next ''experience'' is going to be multiplayer, I will be massively disappointed. It's one of the things I really don't need for this game.
I don't think the Sims is a multiplayer game. I want full control. "wormstache999;c-16467835" wrote:

I agree that chat often is possible in war games where you have to discuss strategy with the people in your own guild or union. But in many games this is only possible anyway if you join a forum or use something like Kakaotalk as a third party program to do it. It also limit you because then you can only join guilds that chat in your own language. A huge part of my 500 online friends in a game like Airport City write even their names in Japanese, Chinese, Korean of Cyrillic letters. So I don’t think that I would be able to chat with them. But they send me presents and help me anyway.
I know that there are Facebook games and other social games where the idea mostly is the same as Facebook’s idea about getting to know as many new “friends” as possible. But I don’t play such games and never have. EA attempted to make such a Sims game on Facebook too though. But I don’t think that EA will do that mistake again.
