I too enjoyed the TS2 style where you had to purchase phones, clothes, etc. I would also like to have to pay for public transportation/taxis. Without these options, my Sims do eventually run out of things on which to spend their money. Besides, it's always nice to just have the option and this would allow for different types of phones as well.
