I'll go a step further and add: don't release a base game that isn't ready to be released and then squeeze out the missing material over a span of years and say that it's for "free".
Pools, ghosts, toddlers, etc. should have all been in the base game that we paid for. Yet, instead of getting a complete base game, EA is attempting to fulfill their obligations on time payments. Meanwhile, they already got the money paid in full, up front!
They still haven't managed to pay up on Smart Sims and the best emotion system ever in the history of the series. We're still left with emotions that are manipulated by objects rather than events and relationships. We still don't have family members who recognize each other as such. We still can't do no-brainer things like setting up simple relationships in CAS such as boyfriend/girlfriend or fiance/fiancee. Step-sibling relationships and in-laws still don't exist. All the nuance was left to the descriptor: roommate.
Greeeeaaaat....
When will we FINALLY get the things that we paid to have in a base game?
