Moana & Island Living: Hints to some secret details?

The costumes look more like ones from Tahiti to me but as there are over 1000 islands and countries in Polynesia (including Hawaii, New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga I think Maxis has collected from everywhere and cartoonised them. Disney probably did the same from the same internet information and images. The larger countries are westernised to a great extent now and win gold medals at the Olympics, have music stars etc., etc.
