Mods being disabled after update.

Anyone experiencing this? I enable my mods, apply the changes, quit out and reboot and the game disables my mods again and again.

  • This can happen because of several reasons, stated by users here in this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Can-t-activate-my-mods-after-new-update/td-p/9560277

Try deleting options.ini in your user folder (this will reset all your game settings)
    Try a game repair (origin>repair)
Check to make sure that you have full access to your user folder and that your antivirus is not blocking your changes. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Anti-Virus-blocking-User-Folder-Screenshots/td-p/9572695
  • @logion Thank you. I read through that thread and tried deleting the options file, that didn’t work. Did a repair, that didn’t work. As I read the thread someone suggested to go into the game version file and make sure it matches with the current patch version. When I looked at the game version in the file was different so I changed it. That solved that issue but now my Home Screen is just blank. Not like it was prior to making that change.

Edit to add: It’s a broken mod. Not sure which one tho but I can’t play without any of them so I’ll just wait until they are all updated by creators. Thanks again for the help.

glad to hear it helped, the blank screen is outdated mods probably, they changed the home screen so several mods probably need an update, try the 50/50 method and check luthienrising's thread for updates: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/984645/broken-updated-mods-cc-skin-tones-dec-2020/p1

It could be the UIcheats extension mod, if you have it. Seems it caused a "blank" home screen. Werbeesu has posted an update.
