- I love the game without mods! I used mods and CC heavily in TS2 and TS3, and it eventually made my game feel messy, and it was sometimes buggy and would slow down my computer/gameplay. I realize that mods and CC for TS4 may not have this same effect, but I don't know, I don't run into so many glitches in my game that others report, and I love the game as it is. I do have all the DLC so that could be why I feel like my game is complete and CC/mods are unnecessary.
I have read some people's testimonies on MCCC that tempt me to use it to customize the lifespan... but that will open up a black hole for me lol. - caprice812New SpectatorNo. I don't use mods, but that doesn't mean I won't in the future :D Right now, I don't feel the need, but then again, I rarely used them in the prior games.
- I really don't like the idea of using mods and CC. I feel like mods will break my game and cause bugs (I know that might not be true, but I can't help thinking). And CC just doesn't look right. Most things I see are either hideous or just don't fit in well in the game for me. Also, the idea of having to update them when new packs come out, no I'm fine.
I also had this fear of mods with Minecraft, then I realized how much better the game is with mods. I'm not sure that's the case with The Sims, though. - The only mod I use is MCCC, I need that story progression!

Mods make the games better. Didn’t use very many in Sims 2 or 3, but with 4 I have a ton of mods because it’s just a pain to play without them.
I wouldn't play any game that causes me pain! :D Why do you do it?- I play vanilla because I like the game as it is, because I've had my share of mods in old iterations. Of course, I could do without the bugs I've encountered, but I have good hopes that the devs team will succeed in repairing these.
There are some "things" that become tiresome, but again I try to overcome the difficulties using my comprehension of the game and find the solutions right inside the game, using every little bits that are given. - I like my game simple. I don't even use mcc. Because I control my own sims and the townies i can just edit more family members/kids to their household manually as the game goes further.
Very few mods are anything I need. "TropicanaCat;c-16924500" wrote:
some little mods from littlemssam, like to change Sims into their everyday where when they come inside from the snow
Same. I don’t know how people don’t look to mods to fix nonsense like sims leaving their winter clothing on inside. As soon as I installed Seasons and saw that happen I closed the game and went mod hunting.- icemanfreshSeasoned NewcomerNothing that heavily affects gameplay, but mostly fixes, added features (like kids being able to walk dogs), storytelling aids like pose player, and maintenance stuff like MCCC.

In some aspects I see where you are coming from looking at the amounts of bugs this game is generating and it can be an pain but if an mod fixes it and you enjoy the game then your post makes an good point. Some people say why play it if it causes you pain, the reason is simple If I paid money for this game and I do not play even if mods are out to make it better I just thrown my money out the window if using those mods eases the pain again I can enjoy the game until EA/Maxis does something to break those mods.
