- There seems to be a bit of a misconception around here that mods take ages to be updated. The fact is, most of the major ones like MCCC are updated within 24 hours of a patch. Sometimes even before a patch is released. And this is only for major patches. Many times no update to the mod is needed.
And CC, such as hair and clothing, doesn’t need to be updated at all. I’ve got CC from 2014 in my folder that works fine. "So_Money;c-16926920" wrote:

I guess it really depends on which mods you're relying on. None of the "major" mods are essential to me but some of the more obscure ones are. MCCC gets lightning fast updates, but the author of that mod earns a six figure salary maintaining it and that's just not a luxury all mod authors have. So I usually end up waiting weeks for updates to the mods I use which is fine by me because I'm not the type of person that HAS to get into the game right after a patch. But I can see how this would turn some people off from modding.
I definitely think it's a good thing that people who know they are too lazy or impatient to maintain a modded game don't even bother with it. IMO there's way too many people who mod their games neglectfully and inevitably run into issues, come on the forums or AHQ to complain or ask for help and to ultimately just be told that they need to test/update their mods.- taydevsimNew Spectatormods vastly improve the gameplay and i can't do without them. ts4 is the only game i've ever played with mods and cc.

You must not play any Bethesda games hehe. The community-made unofficial patch mods for their games are essential, sadly.
I do, actually. TES and Dishonored. I guess I’ve never used mods for them bc for me they’re more mission oriented, while sims are used for storytelling and creation. But I understand that Bethesda games are played that way by many gamers too. - wildirishbansheeRising NoviceYeah, me neither - MCCC is my main mod since it takes care of so many things! I only have about 35 items in my mods folder lol.
- mods for me i got mod get rid of this hissing from vampires and mccc
- LadyKynSeasoned ScoutWouldn't say it make things better, but the ones I use make things a bit more convenient. Mostly MCC along with some small mods that fixed the situation outfit walk-by's. That and the NPC controller to set homeless sims as NPC's for certain jobs (maid, native to salvadorada, butler, etc) and that's about it.
I never bother with big mods because they always break with patches or just glitch really badly (Sacrifical mod's for example). - sakura-dropsNew SpectatorMCCC is one of the only big mods that I have. The rest are to fix annoying things like simulation lag, sims taking too long to eat, sims autonomously going straight for the computer, etc.
Finding fixes for those things was like a breath of fresh air - I'd feel so frustrated having to go back to playing without mods. "Jenna2376;c-16923423" wrote:
I love Mods. However, I don't like to use them. I always end up with corrupted game files when I use them. :( It's a catch-22 with me.
I can count the number of corrupted games I've had on one hand. Usually it's been my own fault by trying to use mods that haven't been updated for the current patch. I have two key mods that I have to have in the game -- MCCC and UI Cheats Extension -- so when the game is patched I wait for those mods to be updated and go into building/remodeling mode (especially when we get new content) until at least those two are updated. Deaderpool is awesome at getting hotfixes at a minimum out quickly, then fine-tunes things down the road.
For me, mods enable me to play my game and tell my stories in my own way. My next project is to create a household where they'll unlock all the career outfits; I'll probably start with four YAs in order to go through all the career branches. With mods like MCCC and UI Cheats I can easily jump Sims to the next career level if I need a boost. and other mods that help cut down on the grind. I can then set up a series of clothing shops where my other Sims can shop and buy the career outfits where my other Sims can shop. (That's my ultimate goal as I rebuild my template save.)
